This year long project called for a team effort. After working to define their goals for this site, the Middle Peninsula Tourim Council decided that their main focus was to provide would-be visitors to way to find Things to Do, Places to See, and Places To Eat in this quaint coastal community.

Turning vision into reality is a hard task for any firm. With all the features which were to be incorporated into the site, it was important for VWS to develop the applications that would run these features and test the useability of such features on the general pulic. After solicting feedback from focus groups, many changes were made.

This unique lifecycle ensured that all of the functions were included in the site, but that input from the Tourism Council and site users was solicited early on in the process. This stratgey reduced the surprises that often come at the of projects such as this.

It was very important for Tourism Council staff to be able to easily manage the massive amounts of data this project required. We built a custom adiminatration console which serves as the control panel for the entire site. All changes and updates can be easily administered through this web based console.

As for the site visitor, we developed a mapping system, a trip planner, a news and events section, a search engine, and a dynamic menu bar which updates as new locations are added to the site. These features allow the visitor the ability to not only research the area but also the ability to plan their trip.

The end result is a fully scaleable, user friendly site which is easy to maintain, update, and manage.
